I normally don’t read children’s chapter books, but on a whim, I decided to give this book a try. The story reads like a prelude to the series of diaries following the adventures of one Chase Cooper. We learn how Chase Cooper becomes a ninja and get a few character lessons on the way: be honest, be loyal, be yourself. While I probably won’t continue reading this series, it is definitely a good choice for upper elementary/ middle grade students who enjoy humorous reads.
